As the owner of a dog, you are destined to make a few unexpected encounters. But who would have assumed the discovery of a whole, rather bizarre industry that caters to dog’s recreational needs? Studio Willen explored the design of high-end dog toys, which will be especially bewildering to non-dog people. Removing these toys from their canine context and stripping them of their iconographic framework opened up a wealth of possible interpretations unrelated to their intended purpose. This whimsical project is fuelled by the cognitive dissonance between the elegant mise-en-scène and the rather mundane object.
