Giuliani Hönger’s new replacement building in the medieval town of Regensberg, which is protected as a historic site, is full of surprising details – both inside and out. The fascinating spatial volumes, the unusual combination of wood and concrete, and the reduction to an archetypal room layout create a contemporary atmosphere that succeeds in mediating between country and city. Studio Willen’s photography translates these qualities into a reduced and uncluttered visual language.
