Utoquai 55 office building, Zurich
Architecture and design from the 1960s inspire the two founders of Studio Willen. Commissioned by Stücheli Architekten, they were able to photograph a building designed by Armin Meili that dates back to precisely that period. The Zurich architectural firm was entrusted with the complete renovation of the seven-storey commercial building. The building envelope had to be replaced due to energy requirements. The reconstruction was carried out in close collaboration with those responsible for historic building preservation. Studio Willen's images make the straightforward design resonate and skilfully capture the bridging of the gap between old and new.
